Jessica Blackley is in her second season as a coach with the Gilmour Academy Lancer volleyball program. After serving one year as an assistant with the varsity team, she is now taking on the added responsibility of head coach of the junior varsity team.

Her coaching experience began in 2010 when she served as a volunteer coach at her alma mater, Aurora High School, for two seasons before earning the title of junior varsity head coach and varsity assistant for two additional seasons. She then went on to coach at Academy Volleyball Cleveland with various levels such as 13R (2012-13); 12R (2013-14); 15R (2014-15); 16A (2015-16).

In high school, she was a three-year letter winner as a middle hitter and blocker, serving as a team captain for three seasons. As a sophomore, she earned all-conference honorable mention. As a junior, she earned all-conference second team and was a Plain Dealer Player of the Week. As a senior, she was all-conference first team, a Plain Dealer Player of the Week, while also earning the team’s Marie Nussbaumer Award. She went on to play volleyball at Marietta College from 2008-10 where she started her freshman and sophomore seasons, earning freshman of the week and player of the week honors. She completed her education at Kent State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in communication studies with a focus on public communication. She currently resides in Lakewood, Ohio, and is employed by Endo Pharmaceuticals as a specialty pharmaceutical sales professional.
