It was quite an exciting weekend for the varsity volleyball team. Gilmour hosted the Lancer Invitational, which featured eight of the top teams from the area including Brecksville-Broadview Heights, Brunswick, Huron, Lake Catholic, Norwalk, Riverside and Waynedale. Gilmour opened the tournament with a 2-0 win against Brecksville-Broadview Heights. In the second round, Gilmour earned the 2-0 victory against Norwalk before beating the defending tournament champion Huron 2-0. In addition to the title, the Lancers had two players receive individual accolades. Emmy Klika '21 was named Most Valuable Player for her tremendous play as a libero, while Brinn MacLellan '21 was named to the All-Tournament team with strong play at the net. MacLellan was also named News-Herald Player of the Week after her outstanding performance the previous week.

Gilmour currently ranks second in the News-Herald Top of the Crop and seventh in the Ohio High School Volleyball Coaches Association (OHSVCA) Week 1 Poll.
