Volleyball Crowned District Champions, Earns Trip to Regional Semifinal

The Gilmour Academy varsity volleyball team won their third straight Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) Division II District Championship on Saturday, October 31 as they defeated Buckeye High School. 

The team's well-balanced attack was no match for the Bucks, as Gilmour defeated Buckeye in three consecutive sets - 25-14, 25-9, 25-8. Kathryn Randorf '22 led the Lancers with 13 kills, while Brinn MacLellan '21 recorded nine kills and Anna Rarick '23 had seven kills. Emmy Klika '21 anchored the team's defense, as she racked up 17 digs, while Kathryn Randorf '22 recorded seven digs. Collectively, the Lancers earned 41 kills in the match and hit an impressive .421 against the Bucks. They also served 13 aces and recorded 11 blocks during the contest.  

With their dominant win, the varsity team advances to the OHSAA Division II Regional Semifinal against Bishop Hartley at Lexington High School on Thursday, November 5 at 5:30 p.m.
