Gilmour Academy varsity volleyball player Emmy Klika '21 is a nominee for the MaxPreps Ohio High School Athlete of the Week. This is the second time this season she has been nominated for the honor. This weekly award is decided by a fan vote, so the Gilmour community and friends of Lancer Nation are encouraged to vote for her now through the voting deadline - November 16 at noon. You may vote as many times as you like through that date.  

Klika, a defensive powerhouse for the Lancers, is one of the nominees this week based on her recent performances in the Ohio High School Athletics Association (OHSAA) Division II Regional Semifinal and Division II Regional Final. She recorded an impressive 32 digs in a five-set semifinal thriller against Bishop Hartley High School, and had a 22-dig performance in the regional final against Perkins High School. 

The starting libero signed her NCAA National Letter of Intent to continue her education and volleyball career at Division I University of Pittsburgh on Wednesday, November 11. Based on her standout senior campaign, Klika was recently named All-Ohio First Team for the 2020 season.  

Klika and her teammates travel to compete in the Division II State Semifinal at Vandalia-Butler High School on Friday, November 13 at 1 p.m. against Tippecanoe High School.
