Lancers Are Division II State Champions!
Lancers Are Division II State Champions!

This past weekend, our girls varsity volleyball team, under the direction of Coach Danny Coughlin, headed to Butler High School in Vandalia, Ohio to play in the Final Four of the state tournament. They defeated Tippecanoe High School on Friday afternoon to advance to the state championship on Sunday morning. They took on Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin, a team which features a number of familiar faces for our girls. Many play together on club teams in the off-season.

In what was an incredible display of volleyball, with the teams battling to five sets, and our Lancers emerged as the Division II state champions at the end! They won the match 3-2 (16-25, 25-19, 25-22, 21-25, 15-13).

Last Wednesday, just before heading to the state tournament, two players signed their NCAA National Letters of Intent. Emmy Klika '21 signed to play for Division I University of Pittsburgh and Jocelyn Carter '21 signed to play for Division I University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Kathryn Randorf '22 recently committed to play for Division I Northwestern University, but will sign next year, when she is a senior.

Two of our players have been nominated for MaxPreps Player of the Week honors for their efforts in the state final - Kathyrn Randorf '22 and Ava Nestor '21. The award is based on a fan vote and you can vote for them as many times as you'd like through noon on Monday, November 23. Be sure to cast your vote!

Additionally, senior standout Brinn MacLellan '21 was recently one of approximately 3,600 students nationally named a Heisman High School Scholarship Competition School Winner. She was recognized for her contributions on the court as well as in her school and local communities.

Finally, we were just notified today that Kathyrn Randorf '22 has been nominated for Gatorade's Girls Volleyball Player of the Year in Ohio!

Congratulations ladies!
