Randorf Breaks Kills Record on Senior Night

Co-captain Kathryn Randorf '22 of the Gilmour Academy volleyball program had a Senior Night to remember as she continued to etch her name into the history of the successful Lancer program.

Randorf, the reigning Gatorade Ohio Volleyball Player of the Year, broke the school record for career kills with her effort against Saint Joseph Academy this past week. Her performance against the Jaguars spearheaded a 3-0 week for GA, helping the Lancers finish the regular season with an 18-3 mark.

The match against Saint Joseph, the fifth-ranked team in the state in Division I, began a busy week of action for Gilmour. The Lancers came out on top of the Jaguars in three sets (25-21, 25-23, 25-15) to sweep the pair of regular-season matchups between the squads.

While it's hard to overshadow a win over a Top 5 team in the state, Randorf's individual exploits may have done so. She reached the kills milestone in the second set by unleashing a strong swing from the middle of the court that was too powerful for a Jaguar defender to control. Randorf finished the evening with 1,259 career kills, surpassing the previous GA record of 1,244 that was held by Alexa Turk '16.

As if there was not enough to celebrate that evening, Gilmour also held its Senior Night in conjunction with the match. Along with Randorf, Brooke Clair '22 and Sabrina Gremm '22 were honored in a pre-match ceremony as their parents and school administrators joined to celebrate their achievements.

Gilmour welcomed Beaumont School to Lancer Gymnasium this past Thursday. The Lancers claimed a 25-14, 25-16, 25-23 victory over the Blue Streaks, the 13th-ranked team in Division II. Randorf had a team-high 13 kills in the win while Gremm tallied 10 kills.

Gilmour closed the regular season by hosting Brunswick High School this past weekend. The Lancers dispatched their visitors in three sets, 25-21, 25-14, 25-13. Gremm posted a team-high 13 kills while Ella Jackson '25 led the offense with 31 assists. Laney Klika '22 posted a team-best 14 digs for GA.

With the three wins last week, Gilmour ended the regular season on a seven-match winning streak, the final six of which were three-set sweeps.

The Lancers will open postseason play this coming weekend as they host an OHSAA Sectional Final in Lancer Gymnasium.
