Katie Barrett is in her seventh season with the Gilmour Academy volleyball program with the 2020-21 school year. She is reprising her role as the head coach of the junior varsity team, which she held for the first two seasons of her Lancer coaching career, before serving as the top varsity assistant for four seasons. 

She is a 2014 graduate of Miami University where she received a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education. She is in her fourth year as a third grade teacher at her alma mater Gesu School, where she previously coached for two seasons as the head coach of the 7^th and 8^th grade A volleyball team. Additionally, Barrett is the director of youth development at Eastside Cleveland Juniors Volleyball Club.

Back in her playing days at Hathaway Brown School, Barrett was a four-year varsity letter winner as a setter for the Blazer volleyball team. She was a two-year team captain who earned team most valuable player honors, as well as the Blazer Award and all-district honorable mention.
